Collection of General Information
When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider, and similar data. This information does not allow any direct conclusions about your identity. It is technically necessary to properly deliver the content of websites requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this type is statistically evaluated by us to optimise our website and the underlying technology.
Cookies
Like many other websites, we use so-called "cookies." Cookies are small text files that are transferred from a website server to your hard drive. This automatically provides us with certain data such as IP address, browser used, operating system, and your Internet connection.
Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Based on the information contained in cookies, we can facilitate navigation and enable the correct display of our web pages.
In no case will the data we collect be disclosed to third parties or linked to personal data without your consent. You can, of course, view our website without cookies. Internet browsers are usually set to accept cookies. You can deactivate the use of cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please use your browser’s help functions to learn how to change these settings. Please note that some features of our website may not function properly if you have disabled cookies.
SSL Encryption
To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption techniques such as SSL via HTTPS.
Comment Function
When users leave comments on our blog, the time of creation and the username previously chosen by the website visitor are stored in addition to the actual comment. This is for our protection, as we can be held liable for illegal content on our website, even if it was created by users.
Contact Form
If you contact us by email or contact form, the information you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your inquiry and for potential follow-up questions.
Deletion or Blocking of Data
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We therefore store your personal data only as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes mentioned here or as required by various legal retention periods. After the relevant purpose ceases to apply or these periods expire, the corresponding data is routinely and legally blocked or deleted.
Use of Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (Google). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, text files stored on your computer, which help analyse your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to IP anonymisation activated on this website, your IP address will be shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activities, and provide further services associated with website and Internet usage. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.
You can prevent the storage of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser. However, we point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all features of this website to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: Browser Add-on for disabling Google Analytics.
As an alternative to the browser add-on, or for browsers on mobile devices, you can disable tracking by Google Analytics on our site using the following opt-out: [cookies_revoke]. An opt-out cookie will be stored on your device. This will prevent future tracking by Google Analytics as long as the cookie remains installed in your browser.
Use of the Scalable Central Measurement Method
Our website uses the “Scalable Central Measurement Method” (SZM) by INFOnline GmbH (http://www.infonline.de) to determine statistical metrics on the use of our offerings.
Anonymous measurement data is collected. The SZM reach measurement uses either a cookie with the identifier “ioam.de” / “ivwbox.de”, a local storage object, or a signature created from various automatically transmitted browser information. IP addresses are only processed in anonymised form.
This measurement method was developed in compliance with data protection regulations. Its aim is to determine the intensity of use and number of users of a website statistically. Individual users are never identified. Their identity remains protected. The system does not deliver advertising.
Websites that are members of the IVW (http://www.ivw.eu) or participate in the AGOF (www.agof.de) “internet facts” study publish usage statistics monthly via AGOF, ag.ma (www.agma-mmc.de), and IVW. These figures can be viewed at http://www.agof.de, http://www.agma-mmc.de, and http://www.ivw.eu. The IVW also regularly audits the SZM process for rule and privacy compliance.
You can opt out of data processing by SZM via: http://optout.ioam.de and http://optout.ivwbox.de
Use of Script Libraries (Google Web Fonts)
To display our content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers, we use script and font libraries such as Google Web Fonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser’s cache to prevent multiple loading. If the browser does not support Google Web Fonts or blocks access, content will be displayed in a default font.
Calling script or font libraries automatically triggers a connection to the provider. It is theoretically possible that such providers may collect data, though currently unclear for what purpose. Google’s privacy policy can be found here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/
Use of Google Maps
This website uses Google Maps API to display geographical information visually. When using Google Maps, Google also collects, processes, and uses data about visitors’ use of map functions.
More information can be found in Google’s privacy policy. You can also adjust your personal privacy settings in Google’s privacy centre.
Instructions on managing your own data in connection with Google products can be found here.
Embedded YouTube Videos
Some of our web pages embed YouTube videos. The plugin is operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube is informed about which pages you visit.
If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can assign your browsing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.
When a YouTube video is started, the provider sets cookies that collect information about user behaviour.
If you’ve disabled cookies for the Google Ads program, such cookies will not be placed when viewing YouTube videos. However, YouTube may store non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block cookie storage in your browser.
Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in their privacy policy: https://www.google.de/intl/en/policies/privacy/
Social Plugins
We offer the use of '“social media buttons” on our website. To protect your data, we use the
“Shariff” solution, which embeds these buttons as graphics linking to the corresponding provider’s website. Only when you click on the graphic will data be transmitted to the provider. If you do not click, no data is exchanged.
More on Shariff: http://www.heise.de/ct/artikel/Shariff-Social-Media-Buttons-mit-Datenschutz-2467514.html

Our website uses Google Conversion Tracking. If you arrive at our site via a Google ad, a cookie is set by Google AdWords. This cookie expires after 30 days and does not personally identify you. It enables Google and us to know that you clicked an ad and arrived at a specific page.
Each Google AdWords client receives a different cookie. Information collected via this cookie is used to generate conversion statistics. Clients learn how many users clicked their ad and reached a conversion-tagged page. They receive no personally identifying information.
You can opt out of tracking by disabling cookies from “googleleadservices.com” in your browser.
Please do not delete the opt-out cookies if you wish to prevent data recording. If you delete your cookies, the opt-out must be reset.
Google Remarketing
This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. It enables Google to present personalised ads to visitors based on previous site behaviour. A cookie is stored in the browser, identifying returning users across Google’s network.
According to Google, no personal data is collected during this process. If you don’t wish to use Google Remarketing, you can deactivate it under http://www.google.com/settings/ads or via the Network Advertising Initiative: http://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp
